City of Trogir, situated on the island between the mainland and the island of Čiovo and is connected to two bridges, was founded by Greek colonists in 3rd century. It’s considered to be the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city and therefore, from 1997, it is protected under UNESCO. Rich cultural heritage and a mild Mediterranean climate with 2700 hours of sunshine a year, makes it one of the most attractive destinations in Croatia.

Castle and tower surrounded by walls form the core of Trogir. Trogir is a real town-museum and a wonderful destination to visit, emerge yourself in the past, walking the narrow streets enjoy the stone facades, the old portal, and various carved motifs. In the period from the 13th till the 15th century, artistic, social and economic power of Trogir was at its peak. It is a time of great prosperity when the city walls, cathedrals, monasteries and palaces are being built by famous artists Nikola of Florence, Andrija Aleši and Ivan Duknović. The most beautiful part of Trogir is the town square where the St. Lawrence cathedral with a magnificent portal of Master Radovan, communal renaissance palace, church of St. Sebastian, the town loggia from the 14 century, and small and large palaces from the 15th century of the noble family Ćipiko are located.

During the summer, numerous cultural events are organized in Trogir. Art enthusiasts can enjoy the performances of classical and chamber ensembles, exhibitions in the Modern Gallery and the theatre performances that are staged within the old city centre. Visit some of the public festivities, such as fishermen's nights, when in all streets of the city fish specialties are prepared, or the festivity on the day of the town of Trogir.
