Once the crown city of Croatian kings, Biograd on sea is a well-known tourist
and nautical center as well as the center of the Biograd Riviera. The town
lies on a peninsula surrounded by modern marinas and a promenade with an unforgettable
view of the Pasman canal and the islands that are scattered around.
Swimming in the crystal clear sea is possible only a hundred meters away from
the city center where many pebble beaches are placed in the shade of pine forests
with. For those who prefer solitude we recommend one of the wooded islands
in the Pasman channel.
The city has preserved some traces of roman time, remains of two churches
date and from the Early Croatian period. In the 18th century the parish church
of Sv. Anastasia was built. It’s worth visiting homeland museum in which
you can see the archeological collection of the prehistoric, antique and Old
Croatian materials, and collection of ship cargo from the 16th century. Summer
fun in Biograd will provide numerous exhibitions, concerts of popular and
classical music, Capella singing and folklore, the performance of the majorettes
and memorable celebration Biograd night in August.
