Porec is a city of culture, entertainment, clean beaches, coves and numerous
islands located on the west coast of Istria. Its coastline is indented at 37
km from the valley of the Mirna River in the north to the deep channel in the
south of Lima. The largest and most beautiful of the islands of Porec is St.Nikola,
on which you can visit round tower from 1402, one of the oldest lighthouses
in the Adriatic.
The entire old town of Porec is a cultural monument with the street layout
preserved since ancient roman cestrum, but still best known monument of the
city remains the Euphrasian Basilica included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Narrow streets and squares, parks and cleanliness of this little town will
win you at first glance. Should you visit Porec in late April or early May,
you can attend the international exhibition of wines and winemaking equipment
"Vinistra Porec".
The Lim channel, nearby Porec, like the fjord enters into the interior of
12 km, and is considered one of the most beautiful natural resources of the
Istrian peninsula.
