PRIMOSTEN - the former fishing village, is today one of the most attractive
destinations on the Adriatic. A unique Mediterranean atmosphere of medieval

present. From the former fishing village Primosten developed in the tourist
paradise on the Adriatic. In the 16th century the city builds walls to defend
against the Turks and connecteds to the mainland by a movable bridge, due
to which gets the name of Primosten. On the hill dominating the city in 1485.
was butil church St. George with a cemetery, restored in the 18th century.
From the tower of the church you can admire a magnificent view over the whole
course of Primosten.
Primosten fishermen, olive growers and winemakers, have woven their skills
and created a monument to the work of human hands in the vineyards made in
stone that resemble a lace. The image of the vineyard is located in the UN
building in New York. The famous vine "Babic" is cultivated here.
Should you visit this area you will experience the most intense and intimate
union of man and nature. Enjoy the olive oil, dried figs, goat cheese and a
drop of the famous Babic.
During the summer months in Primosten are taking place many cultural and entertainment
events, the day of Our Lady of Loretta and Our Lady of Porto are especially
celebrated with a big procession in the town and on the sea. Every August Primosten
fiesta is organize where you can see Primosten old customs under the motto
poor soil keeps its treasure, but what gives is twice as worth.
