Vranjic is a lovely town near Split, Croatia, with breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding mountains. Its ancient appeal, along with cobblestone lanes and historical churches, entices travellers to discover centuries of heritage. The peninsula on which today's Vranjic is located and the neighbouring mainland was probably already inhabited in prehistoric times. Today, the peninsula, and in ancient times the island, attracted people to stay there, so archaeological findings bear witness to life from prehistoric and Roman times to the present day. Vranjic is a suburb of Split, yet it has its stores, post office, ATM, and veterinarian. However, medical assistance requires a kilometre or two trip to Solin. It is connected by bus to Split and, of course, Trogir, allowing access to the airport, which is 17 kilometres distant.
